Analysis of diversity among emmer wheat (Triticum dicoccon) using molecular marker

Emmer wheat (Triticum dicoccon) have good characterize for develop of wheat breeding which this plant originated from turkey, Iran and Iraq. Start Codon Targeted (SCoT) marker analysis is a novel and easy method for study of genetic diversity based on the short conserved region flanking the ATG start codon in plant genes. In the present work, 8 selected SCoT markers were used to investigate the genetic diversity of 30 different genotype of emmer wheat (Triticum dicoccon) collected from different region. The primers generated a total of ۶۴ bands of which 36 (56 %) bands were polymorphic. Totally the genotyps were located in three different groups based on Dice coefficient and UPGMA method which did not represent different geographic regions. A low genetic similarity was detected among the studied ecotypes based on genetic similarity.
